The cardiac rehabilitation department is nationally certified and uses an individualized approach in caring for cardiac patients in their recovery from a heart attack, coronary bypass surgery, valvular repair/replacements, PTCA stenting procedures, heart transplantation and angina/chest pain.
Each program provides:
- Client and family educational counseling for treatment and prevention of heart disease
- Aerobic, stretching and strengthening exercise with continuous heart monitoring
- Blood pressure assessment and monitoring
- Oxygen saturation monitoring, if indicated
- Emotional support - coping skills
- Home exercise program development
- Lifestyle and risk factor assessment & modification options
- Individualized dietary instruction
The specially trained staff includes Registered Nurses and an Exercise Physiologist with ancillary services provided by the Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Dietary and Pharmacy departments.
The Clarke County Cardiac Rehab Department is a nationally certified program by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab which insures standardized and quality care.
Noninvasive cardiac diagnostic services are also provided with state-of-the-art equipment and tools. These services include:
- Cardiac Stress Testing
- Stress Echocardiography
- Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
- Holter Monitoring
- Event Monitoring
