Clarke County Hospital will bill your insurance company if you have provided us with all necessary policy information. If you have failed to provide us with needed information, you will be responsible for payment on the entire account.

Our fees are accepted by most insurance plans. If your insurance company is not prompt in making payment we may ask for your assistance in contacting them for payment. In cases where service has not been paid, you will be personally responsible for the account.

Medicare
Clarke County Hospital will bill Medicare on your behalf for services provided. You are responsible for any deductibles, co-payments or other amounts not paid by Medicare. For your convenience, your supplemental carrier will be billed for any balances following Medicare’s payment. Clarke County Hospital does not participated in Medicare Part D.

Medicaid
We require all Medicaid patients to provide Clarke County Hospital with a current eligibility card at the time of registration. Without verification of coverage, you will be responsible for your account. We will bill Medicaid when all required information has been provided. You are responsible for non-covered portions and additional requirements associated with your coverage.

Patients Share of the Bill
Insurance companies do not always pay for all medical services that you may receive. You will be responsible for paying any service not covered by your insurance policy.

Many insurance companies request additional information in order to process a claim. Clarke County Hospital will work with your company but we have not control on the length of time it takes to complete the process.

Once insurance has processed your bill, you will be billed by our billing and payment center, Preferred Medical Deposit (PMD). PMD customer service representatives will assist you with your payment options by calling 800-777-8645.

Self Pay with No Insurance Coverage
Patients who don’t have any insurance coverage may receive an 8 percent discount if paid within 30 days of the initial billing dates. Extended Care Services are excluded from this discount. If you are unable to pay in full, you will be required to select one of the payment options we offer: cash, check or money order, debit card, credit cards or Clarke County Hospital payment plan.  A financial counselor is available to assist you in determining your potential eligibility in federal, state and local programs.

Services Not Billed by Clarke County Hospital
During your hospital visit at CCH, your physician may order tests, procedures or other items that require professional services of other providers. If you have a question about a bill received from those professionals, please contact them directly.

Provider who will bill you separately include: your physician or surgeon, emergency room physicians, radiologists and durable medical equipment.
