Brian Evans
Chief Executive Officer
Brian Evans became Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Prior to becoming CEO of Clarke County Hospital, he served as Director of Rural Health Resources with Iowa Health Des Moines. His experience includes working as a Clinic Administrator for 12 years and several hospital management positions prior to that. Evans earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in Davenport. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mike Thilges
Chief Financial Officer
Mike Thilges became the Chief Financial Officer in 2003. He formerly served as a manager at Denman & Company, LLP, a certified public accounting firm located in West Des Moines, Iowa. He worked as a CPA and business consultant for numerous Iowa hospitals and other healthcare clients while at Denman & Company, LLP. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Iowa State University. He is a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association.
Vic Irvin
Chief Clinical Officer
Vic Irvin joined Clarke County Hospital in 2003 as chief clinical officer. She oversees numerous departments such as surgery, outpatient clinic, emergency room, infection control, social services and med/surg on the nursing floor. Her nursing career began as an ICU nurse at Mercy Medical Center, where she held a number of positions, including director of nursing. She received her B.S.N. in 1991 from Drake University, and Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the College of St. Francis in 1994.
Vicky Pederson
Director of Patient Care Services
Vicky Pederson became Director of Patient Care Services in 2008. Prior to this position, she served as the organization’s Clinical Systems Coordinator since 2005. She formerly served as COO for Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa and Assistant Administrator for Adair County Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa. Vicky is a registered nurse with more than 20 years of experience serving in various management and administrative capacities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management and received her master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Bellevue University in Nebraska.
Deb Lundquist
Director Of Outcomes
Deb Lundquist became the Director of Outcomes in 1993. As Director of Outcomes, Deb is responsible for overseeing Quality Improvement, Utilization Management and Risk Management. Her healthcare career began as a staff RN in Med/Surgery at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She also worked in labor/delivery at Broadlawns and as a clinic nurse in a private physician’s office. She first joined Clarke County Hospital as a staff RN in 1978. She worked to become assistant director of nursing before leaving CCH in 1987. Deb worked as a case manager at a Des Moines Insurance company from 1987 to 1993 when she returned to CCH. Deb is a members of the Iowa Association of Healthcare Quality (IAHQ).
Kate Emanuel
Director Of HR
Kate Emanuel became Director of Human Resources in 2003. Prior to her employment at Clarke County Hospital she served Group Dekko companies as Human Resources Manager of seven manufacturing facilities in Indiana and Iowa for 14 years. Before specializing in Human Resources, she managed day-to-day operations of KJJC FM radio station. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Chadron State College in Nebraska.
