Welcome to Clarke County Hospital. We are pleased you have entrusted us with your care. As a patient at Clarke County Hospital you play an important role in your care. Our practitioners and staff will make every effort to keep you informed about your care and ask for your input. Our staff strives to meet your personal needs and to make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

At Clarke County Hospital, your health and safety is our concern. Because of this, we respectively request that you:

 

  • Keep us informed if something is not working properly or you are in need of something by using the call light in your room.
  • Ask questions after receiving emergency instructions from the nurse upon your arrival.
  • Understand we take the potential of falls seriously and ask that you remember that bed rails are in place to help prevent falls.
  • Assist staff with moves and transfers. 

 

Valuables & Belongings

We urge you to leave all valuables, including jewelry, at home. If you lose something during your stay, please contact Robin at 641-342-2184.

Public Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available upon request. Please ask your nurse or care provider for more information. 

The C.A.R.E Channel 

The C.A.R.E Channel can be viewed on channel 16.1 in all of our patient rooms, registration areas, waiting areas, break rooms and ER bays. Our goal is to create a relaxing and comforting environment for our patients and their families.

C.A.R.E stands for Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment||special174||. The C.A.R.E Channel's intent is to reduce hospital noise and improve patient experience. The C.A.R.E Channel is produced to comfort patients and families by offering a full 24-hour cycle of imagery and music to support the circadian rhythm, enhance sleep, and to reduce the day-to-day hospital noise.

Clothing

We understand you will likely be more comfortable in your own pajamas, slippers, and bathrobe. If you don't want to hassle with bringing these items to the hospital, we do provide these items for you.

Patient Meals

During your stay, our dietary department will take care of all of your eating needs. CCH staff prepares and serves three meals every day. Additionally, a variety of snacks are available upon request. Our cafeteria is also open to visiting family and friends.

Medications

Our hospital pharmacy distributes medicines as prescribed by physicians during your stay at CCH. We ask that you bring a list of your medications and their dosages. We encourage you not to bring the medication with you unless instructed to do so by your physician(s).

Tobacco Free

Clarke County Hospital is a smoke-free facility, and smoking is not allowed on campus. If you feel that this could become a problem for you, please notify you admitting nurse. 

Alcohol/Drugs

The possession and consumption of alcohol and non-prescribed drugs is prohibited on the hospital campus.

Mail

Please direct outgoing mail to your nurse, who will place it in the outgoing mail. Our mail is delivered daily.

Going Home

Your physician will arrange for you to check out of the hospital. Discharge procedures will be discussed with you by your physicians, nurses and social services.
