CCH Nurse Residency Program

The Clarke County Hospital Nursing Residency Program is an intense two-year Rural Health Residency Program designed to transition individuals from the basic nursing education to independent professional nursing practice.

Ongoing support through mentoring processes will promote self-confidence in meeting the challenges of the new RN role. Program focus will be in the areas of clinical, knowledge, and professional practices.

Clinical

There is a strong emphasis on clinical competency and developing effective critical thinking strategies.

Extensive case study reviews will demonstrate knowledge of patient diagnosis, comprehensive understanding of the clinical picture with interdisciplinary patient care planning and management.

Knowledge

A variety of interactive learning experiences will provide the resident with opportunities to critically reflect on their nursing practice. Participation in extensive case study analysis and dialogue with interdisciplinary team members will guide you in the application of knowledge to advance your clinical judgment, skills and ability to effectively problem solve. 

Ongoing opportunities will address topics that are crucial for the resident to master, including delegation, time management and priority setting. The program promotes knowledge integration into clinical practice.
