Brian Evans, Clarke County Hospital CEO, Receives UnityPoint Health Influential Leader Award

Clarke County Hospital CEO, Brian Evans, is the 2023 recipient of the UnityPoint Health Influential Leader Award. This award was designed to honor a leader who promotes an organization's mission, vision and values while being an extraordinary leader to the team.


Brian was recognized as a role model who creates an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are demonstrated and supported. His dedication to motivating staff with a shared vision and enthusiasm to achieve better outcomes for themselves and their patients is unmatched. His perseverance and resilience were demonstrated after his diagnosis with stage 4 lymphoma earlier this year. Brian's cancer journey is one of true grit and determination. Despite the challenges and side effects of chemotherapy, Brian refused to let his illness hold him back, and he remained dedicated to his work.


Brian has been instrumental in driving Clarke County Hospital to new heights of success while advocating for the betterment of south-central Iowa and the healthcare industry. He has been involved in community organizations such as the Clarke County Development Corporation and the Osceola Chamber of Commerce, whose missions are to strengthen the economic development in southern Iowa through the growth of business and industry and to improve the quality of life of its residents.
