Medicare Counseling & Support at Clarke County Hospital

Navigating Medicare can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Clarke County Hospital is proud to partner with the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) to provide free, confidential guidance for local residents. Our trained volunteers are here to ensure you have the resources you need to make confident choices about your Medicare coverage and to protect yourself from fraud.

Appointments are available with a certified SHIIP volunteer who will work with you one-on-one to review your situation, answer questions, and help you understand your options.

How We Can Help:

  • Clarify your Medicare benefits, rights, and choices
  • Educate you about fraud, scams, and how to stay protected
  • Assist in organizing medical bills and Medicare statements, and support with claim filing and appeals
  • Identify programs that may help reduce your Medicare and prescription drug costs
  • Provide personalized assessments so you can make informed, confident decisions
  • Compare and review Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, Retiree coverage, prescription drug plans, and long-term care insurance policies
